Can i index all multilanguage URLs with GPTranslate and the Joomla multilanguage?

Yes, this is possible by using physical URLs generated by the Joomla multilanguage.
A URL that has been rewritten by GPTranslate for a particular language without that language enabled in Joomla, must be considered a sort of 'virtual' URL generated by scripts directly in the browser when the translation occurs.

Physical multilanguage URLs including '/en', '/fr', '/de', etc can be generated only by the Joomla core and multilanguage router by activating the 'System - Language Filter' plugin. Additionally, having a different alias for articles, menus, etc based on the chosen language, may require to use the Joomla core multilanguage and having created different menu items and articles for each installed language, unless you use the automated alias translations of GPTranslate.

Neverthless, for better URLs indexing and also to generate a language sitemap with JSitemap PRO, it's possible to adopt an hybrid approach with GPTranslate, as it supports the integration with the Joomla native multilanguage system. You can use the native Joomla multilanguage system and enabling the 'System - Language Filter' plugin to only generate physical multilanguage URLs but without actually translating contents, which will be handled by GPTranslate.

To achieve this result follow this configuration:

  • Manage contents of your site in a single base original language without manually translating it. Assign them to a specific language if you want different aliases in URLs, or to 'All' language if you want the same URLs for all languages
  • Make sure that the single base original language used for all pages of your site always matches the original language chosen in GPTranslate
  • Create a content language or install a Joomla language pack for each language you want to automatically translate with GPTranslate
  • Enable the Joomla 'System - Language Filter' plugin
  • Enable the 'Detect current language' option.
  • Enable the 'Auto-translate detected language' option. With this option enabled, GPTranslate will detect the current language requested via the Joomla multilanguage URL and automatically translate it starting from the original base language that will be the same for all pages
  • Optionally, disable the GPTranslate interface and use the native Joomla language module as having both could appear redundant

Optionally disable the GPTranslate interface and use the native Joomla language module to switch between Joomla multilanguage URLs:

Finally, if you like GPTranslate not to translate certain languages already translated manually using the Joomla multilanguage, it's possible to create multiple instances of the GPTranslate module and assign each one to the desired languages only, instead than a generic GPTranslate module assigned to all languages.
In this case for example, the GPTranslate module and translation will occur only for French and German languages.
