One of the greatest strengths of GPTranslate is the possibility to save automatically translated text in the Joomla database to improve, edit, customize, add or delete it.
Neverthless, there could be particular cases in which you may want to always translate pages of your site in real-time and without saving translations, for example if you frequently add text to pages or change contents.
To achieve this and prevent translations to be statically loaded or saved, it's enough to enable the 'Use realtime translations' option in the component configuration:
![]()
or if using Joomla you can also disable the System - GPTranslate plugin:![]()
Using one of these methods, each page will be automatically translated in real-time whenever a translation is requested. If the 'Use realtime translations' option is enabled, translations will still be saved but not loaded later, on the contrary if the 'System - GPTranslate' plugin is unpublished then translations will not even be saved in the database.
Keep in mind that using the translator in this way can lead to increased usage costs for ChatGPT's paid plans and to having pages translated more slowly because they are always performed in real-time, while this does not make a big difference for Google AI.
As an alternative, if your content changes frequently, you can consider simply deleting a record saved in the GPTranslate backend to regenerate the translations on the next request, or edit it and manually add a new translation.
Can I always have a real-time translation for pages that update?
