Why some resources throw 404 not found error?

If you look into the Firefox or Chrome inspector tools, you may notice some files as blocked '-gdprlock' and not reachable when cookies are not accepted or declined.

CAUTION: NEVER ADD YOUR WEBSITE DOMAIN TO THE LIST OF BLOCKED DOMAINS OTHERWISE ALL CSS, JS RESOURCES OF YOUR WEBSITE WILL BE BLOCKED!

CAUTION: you can't block a resource that is cached using a whatever Joomla! cache or a third-party cache, otherwise it won't be refreshed when Accept/Decline is chosen.

TIP: if you experiment website slowness switch to the 'Advanced' blocking system.

If you choose to block even third-party cookies using settings in the image below or domains lists under each cookie category, all matched resources such as scripts, iframes, images, etc from domains specified will be locked until a user consent the global cookie usage or the usage of a specific cookie category.
This feature ensures to block all cookies from third-party domains in an effective way. If you don't want to block certain domains on your website for example to preserve Google Maps, Google ReCaptcha, Google Fonts, etc simply remove them from lists of blocked cookies/domains.

If you are using cookie categories take care to manage the list of blocked domains for each enabled category as well.

If you experiment issues using the default blocking system, such as links locked, images locked, website slowness, etc you can switch to the 'Advanced' blocking system that allows you to fine tune which elements must be blocked allowing to preserve links and avoiding to initiate fake requests.
