XML-Sitemap: shouldn´t that be SEF-friendly? Karma: 0
Hi,

links in my XML-sitemap are looking like this at the moment:

.../component/content/article/8-blog/3-ferienhaus-dicht-machen.html?Itemid=123

Shouldn´t it be SEF-friendly also for the Google bot, otherwise, it is NOT indexing SEF-friendly URLs? Shouldn´t it look like this instead:

.../blog/ferienhaus-dicht-machen.html

FYI - in the JSitemap configuration, I have set both

Sitemaps links rewriting
Force format for SEF links

to "YES", but no change. The XML-sitemap is still using Non-SEF-friendly links.

And after checking the Google Seach Console, it seems that after the first indexing, only 2 URLs were indexed out of 5. From my 5 links, 2 of them look like SEF-friendly links, and 3 look like the above example in red....

Hi,

if the links in the sitemap are not SEF-friendly it means that the Joomla router can't resolve them to a menu item.
If they are not SEF-friendly in the sitemap they are not SEF-friendly even in the website.

The options:
Sitemaps links rewriting
Force format for SEF links

are not related to this, they are related to the sitemap link not to the link included in the sitemap generated by Joomla.

You must ensure that the contents are properly assigned to Joomla menu items, for example that the '8-blog' category is assigned to a view 'blog category' in your Joomla menus.
