Re:Server Load Karma: 0
Thanks.

The problem is that whatever value I set over 60% my server gets overloaded. I do have a powerful dedicated server and we talking about 70-100 users logged in at the same time.
Are there any tips I could use so that I could increase the server load setting and at the same time maintain my server load at a reasonable value?

Thank you for your immediate answers.

I don't think, if the server gets overloaded the only things to do is reduce the usage or increase the server capabilities.

The only workaround if not already in place would be strip out guests users from the chat, so it would be used only by logged in users. Also in the chat advanced settings enable the 'cache' parameter, maybe it could help a bit.

Other than that there is nothing else to do.

Hi.

Thank you for your answers.

I've noticed that I have a huge table in database namely "jchat_public_readmessages" with over a million records.
How is this tabled maintained? Are the records deleted over time? I guess this will impact server load.

Thank you.

Hi,

if you think that the problem are the database tables that became too much huge, i suggest to try to purge them.

You can the buttons in the messages list 'Purge messages' or 'Purge oldest messages' to delete partially or totally exchanged messages in database tables including the jchat_public_readmessages

Also in the control panel there is a button named 'Purge database cache' to clear other kind of tables.

Regards

So this table keeps growing unless purged manually?

Yes sure, the messages history is stored in the database, can be exported, etc
Normally it doesn't impact on performance however.
