UPDATE:
the integration with Contus HD media share has been correctly completed and all SEF links are included in the sitemap. You can grant access to this section to allow indexing of all videos as a best practice.

This the current HTML users sitemap: http://www.quebecguitare.ca/index.php?option=com_jmap&view=sitemap

Greetings

John

I submited the map, there is a lot less than my previous sitemap. Would that be because this component has removed alot of duplicate in order to have better SEO?

Should I submit the mobile xml too or this link covers both?

/component/jmap/sitemap/xml

Normally the standard XML /component/jmap/sitemap/xml link covers all modern devices also mobile.

The sitemap of course removes duplicates, however try to compare the previous sitemap checking if some sections need still to be added to the new sitemap with extra data sources.

John

Hello, I just lost my previous thread because of the session time for your forum is too short.

This link contains no data (and also currently blocked by htaccess under support.: http://www.quebecguitare.ca/index.php?option=com_jmap&view=sitemap&format=images&xslt=1

Deactivating the htaccess that was blocking the link. the component returned no data:

Code:

XML Images Sitemap Generated by JSitemap Pro You can find more information about XML sitemaps on sitemaps.org. This sitemap contains 0 URLs This sitemap contains 0 Images URL
This links contains all thumbnails hosted on AWS through cloudfront, but nothing from K2: http://www.quebecguitare.ca/component/jmap/sitemap/images I wanted to ask... Is it normal one link contains no image data links and the other one does? Is it a problem for SEO that these links are not under my domain? Will using CNAME like cdn1.quebecguitare.ca make things better for SEO? Including images from K2... Images from K2 are often renamed under cache system like this: http://www.quebecguitare.ca/media/k2/items/cache/3de37b3f2de6564a2ea064ec2afe25d4_M.jpg K2 items under data source already have the option "Include elements in XML Images sitemap" but are not showing. Thank you, Regards

Hello,

both links return the same results, the xls format is only a formatting presentation layer http://www.quebecguitare.ca/index.php?option=com_jmap&view=sitemap&format=images&xslt=1
or http://www.quebecguitare.ca/index.php?option=com_jmap&view=sitemap&format=images

The results of the image sitemaps are as follow:

Code:

<url> <loc>http://www.quebecguitare.ca/video/player/articulation-voicing-2-slides/articulation-voicing-2slides-c-pos1</loc> <image:image> <image:loc>http://www.quebecguitare.ca/images/banners/videoplus_logo.png</image:loc> <image:title>Cours de Guitare - Professeur de Guitare | QuébecGuitare.ca</image:title> </image:image> <image:image> <image:loc>http://d3ojr2xce2qnsp.cloudfront.net/Fives_Penta_Condense_Fm_Em_Pos5-00002.png </image:loc> </image:image> <image:image> <image:loc>http://d3ojr2xce2qnsp.cloudfront.net/Fives_HFNW_Fm9_Em9_sub_Abmaj7_Gmaj7-00003.png </image:loc> </image:image> <image:image> <image:loc>http://d3ojr2xce2qnsp.cloudfront.net/YjSem39_Waves_Impro_Var1-00002.png </image:loc> </image:image> <image:image> <image:loc>http://d3ojr2xce2qnsp.cloudfront.net/Fives_Penta_Condense_Fm_Em_Pos5-00002.png </image:loc> </image:image> <image:image> <image:loc>http://d3ojr2xce2qnsp.cloudfront.net/Fives_HFNW_Fm9_Em9_sub_Abmaj7_Gmaj7-00003.png </image:loc> </image:image> <image:image> <image:loc>http://d3ojr2xce2qnsp.cloudfront.net/Routine_D_Dm_Pentatonique_Cordes4_5_Asc-00001.png </image:loc> .........
For K2, if you have images like this: http://www.quebecguitare.ca/media/k2/items/cache/3de37b3f2de6564a2ea064ec2afe25d4_M.jpg remove the 'media' exclude filters from all data sources to ensure to include that images with path to 'media' folder. using a CDN has no improvements for SEO, the only problem could be submitting the image sitemap to GWT, see here for more info: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/178636?hl=en
Code:

<image:loc> Yes The URL of the image. In some cases, the image URL may not be on the same domain as your main site. This is fine, as long as both domains are verified in Webmaster Tools. If, for example, you use a content delivery network (CDN) to host your images, make sure that the hosting site is verified in Webmaster Tools OR that you submit your sitemap using robots.txt. In addition, make sure that your robots.txt file doesn’t disallow the crawling of any content you want indexed.

Thank you John.

I've added my cloudfront links to GWT and verified them. I will setup cNAME too with CDN to improve my Yslow score.

Also for the K2 Images there are special exclusions for the Robot.txt that are important to add:

# Allow Google Images to spider the images folder and K2 images
User-agent: Googlebot-Image
Allow: */images/banners*
Allow: */images/stories*
Allow: */media/k2/items/cache*
Allow: */media/k2/galleries/cache*
Allow: */media/k2/categories*
Allow: */media/k2/users*
Disallow: */administrator*
Disallow: */cache*
Disallow: */cli/*
Disallow: */components*
Disallow: */images*
Disallow: */includes*
Disallow: */installation*
Disallow: */language*
Disallow: */libraries*
Disallow: */logs*
Disallow: */media*
Disallow: */modules*
Disallow: */plugins*
Disallow: */templates*
Disallow: */tmp*
Disallow: */xmlrpc*
Disallow: */404.html
Disallow: */404
# Optional - use to prevent spiders from seeing search pages:
Disallow: *&searchword=
#Disallow the print view of the component:
Disallow: *&print=1

Regards.
