Google Returning Sitemap Link in Search Results Karma: 0  
Hi John,

I Googled my site and the following link showed up in the results: http://www.quebecguitare.ca/component/jmap/sitemap/xml

Am I doing something wrong? Is this inevitable?

Hi Alex,

just asked to SEO expert and yes, Google normally indexes even the sitemap link, and this is the correct way if you exclude it every links won't be indexed.

Just was on phone with Joomla SEO expert, just curious to dig a bit more on this.

He said that if we was to exclude the sitemap link to Google the site won't get indexed at all, and Google treats the sitemap link as a normal link and this is required for correct indexing
