Unable to submit sitemap to Google Karma: 0  
Hi,
I've installed the pro version and just updated to ver 2.4.

When I submit XML ver sitemap from Google webmaster tools I get the following error:
"Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead"

I'm sure I used the XML map link (http://edoula.me/en/component/jmap/sitemap/xml/).

Please advise what might be the problem.

Hello Nadav,

the link for the sitemap is correct, can be used in SEF or non-SEF mode: http://edoula.me/en/component/jmap/sitemap/xml/
http://edoula.me/index.php?option=com_jmap&view=sitemap&format=xml&lang=en

I checked both links opening in my browser but the XML sitemap is correct, so the error given by GWT is very weird.

If GWT detects an HTML page submitting the above links, ensure that there are no bots blocks, firewall, etc that redirects Google Bot to an HTML page such as CAPTCHA verifications or similar.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I tried again and when submitting the non -SEF link you sent me there's no error from GWT.

Not sure how to proceed. I prefer using SEF url.

The links are absolutely equivalent and have to work in the same way.

There are no difference between submitting SEF or non-SEF links, but usually and unless particular cases it's better submitting the non-SEF links:
http://edoula.me/index.php?option=com_jmap&view=sitemap&format=xml&lang=en


If you have errors only when submitting the SEF link, ensure that there are no errors for the characters '/'
Also GWT pre-fill the domain name, so you have only to append the final part of the link.

I am getting the exact same error.

Google webmaster tools says my XML sitemap is a HTML page.

Is there another way to do this?
