Child products Karma: 0
Hello

Is there a way to list child products in the sitemap?

Only the main product gets listed, example:
http://comenaranjas.com/en/shop/seasonal-fruits/apples-kg-detail.html

Only "apples" get listed and not the 5 childs it contains,

Regards

Hello,

if you talk about products in virtuemart, by default the sitemap lists all products in the shop, including child products and categories.

if you have subcategories and you want to render as a nested tree you can enable the parameter 'Show multilevel tree'

best regards

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same argument. In VM3 there is a button 'Add child' to allow creation of child products but these are also reflected in the sitemap.

Maybe you are talking about something else such as 'variations' in the picture attached.

Regards.

Hello

That screenshot actually shows child products, all our dropdown products are childs "generic childs custom field" and appear as childs of parent product. As created with the "add childs button" yes.

In that case "bananas" is the parent of all the ones appearing in the dropdown (childs) which appear also in the "child products" tab inside the product.

If you check our sitemap you will see that only the parent product appears.

Hello,

when creating child products in VM 3 they are created as normal products, and thus also listed in the sitemap.

As i guessed the problem is not related to child products itself.

The problem is that child products are orphan for category, they are not assigned to any virtuemart category.

When generating the sitemap where products are grouped by category, the product needs to be assigned to a category of course.

if products are orphan of a category can't be included and categorized in the sitemap.

If you can't assign a category to all products a alternative solution is to create a new data source that lists all products without category grouping, so that all products will be included in a plain list without categorization.
