Google says hreflang tag missing Karma: 0  
Hi,

When I try to submit the XML hreflang Sitemap through Google Search Console, Google says that there is an error: hreflang tag missing!
I have checked the Joomla configuration and the Language setting is en-UK.
Any suggestions?

Hi,

the reason could be because the sitemap is empty. The hreflang sitemap is populated only with Joomla contents and menu relations if any. Check the hreflang sitemap opening in the browser before submitting it.

Yes this is true. The sitemap hreflang is empty. How is this possible? Is JSitemap not supposed to fill it with the tag "en-UK".
I can do it manually but I prefer by using Jsitemap.

Don't misunderstand things.
A hreflang sitemap is done to relate contents with different languages, if you have not set relations in your Joomla system for menus or articles obviously even the sitemap will be empty.
And you have to use it only if the website is multilanguage, has more than 1 language and has in place relations between contents.
Google won't accept empty sitemaps.
