Hreflang Sitemap possible in combination with Falang ? Karma: 0
Hello,
Jsitemap is a wonderful extension.
Everything works fine except Hreflang.

My site runs on 3 different languages
1. Hreflang sitemap seems not to be available as it requires the site separated ii various languages including a relation between articles.
I work with Falang. The language of every menu/article needs to be set as default.
Falang means no language-separation. This means no hreflang-sitemap. This leads to issues with Google.
Google is permanently messaging me issues.
Example:
Incorrect hreflang implementation on http://halkidiki-greece.com/el/
Incorrect hreflang implementation on http://halkidiki-greece.com/
Incorrect hreflang implementation on http://halkidiki-greece.com/de/
Incorrect hreflang implementation on http://halkidiki-greece.com/en/
.. so far I've 'collected' 95 Errors.

As jsitemap seems to be a very extensive solution for everything about sitemaps - I'm sure there is a solution for this.

Thank you very much
Kind regards

Hello and thank you very much,

no it's not possible at all with Falang as far as i know.

It can be published and it makes sense ONLY if you have a Joomla! multilanguage based website and if you have configured Joomla ASSOCIATIONS for menu and contents. Because as far as i know Falang doesn't provide any way to manage associations in the core Joomla database table, simply discard to submit this kind of sitemap for your website to avoid errors.

Please refer to the PDF docs at the paragraph 'Hreflang sitemap' for detailed explanations about this kind of sitemap.

Kind regards,
John
