I have lost my data few times in Search Engine Metainfo Karma: 0
Hello,

I have filled my page titles and meta description few times and every time, I come back after a day and I see I have lost all my data and instead all auto populated.

This is very annoying, would you please let me know what can be wrong.

Thank you,

Hello,
Data are never lost once saved to the database.

Please refer to this duplicated forum thread already solved: http://storejextensions.org/forum/view/10-jsitemap/4372-solved-search-engine-metainfo-disappeared.html

I don't know what else you could do wrong.

Thank you

Unfortunately that is not the problem.

I will investigate further tomorrow and come back to you.

Thanks

Hello,

I am still not clear about the difference between http://domain.com and http://www.domain.com.

In google webmaster I have set http://www.domain.com to be preferred and when searched on google, the result shown is http://www.domain.com.

Now when I go to my administrator part http://www.domain.com/administrator

and go to the JSitemap and to search engine metainfo, the links shown are all without www
http://domain.com

How is that I login with www but links that I see dont have www in them?

My second question is that when I change page title in the JSitemap>Search Engine Metainfo

should I see a change propagated in the page title in the menu item of the same page? At the moment I do not see any change in the menu item.

Thank you.

Hello again,

you did it correctly to specify your preferred domain in Google as http://www.domain.com, always indicate the preferred domain in Google.

If you login to http://www.domain.com/administrator and you find all links in the sitemap as http://domain.com that probably means that in the Joomla configuration.php you have hardcoded the domain in the $live_site variable. Normally the domain is reflected and propagated automatically by Joomla itself when you login as http://www.domain.com/administrator

I suggest to fix it in Joomla itself, although you can change it easily in JSitemap configuration using the parameter visible below.

About the meta title, you have to see it changed in the browser page title of the same page. Notice that if the link is different (http://www.domain.com/link.html and http://domain.com/link.html) obviously it won't work. So first of all fix links issue.

Regards.

Hello,

Thank you for yuor prompt reply.

I first set a permanent redirect from non www to www in Cpanel which helped a lot.

The reason I logged with www and did not see the www links in the component was browser cache, that has also sorted out and the good news is that I can now see my titles and metainfo.

Thank you again.
