Search engine meta info lost Jsitemap-pro Karma: 0
Hi All,

2 months ago I edited all my meta info with J-sitemap pro. Yesterday I wanted to refresh some meta info but then i saw a problem. All the edited meta info is gone. Allmost everyting. The big problem is now that i didn't make an export of the list and i didnt make a good backup. In the database backup i got there were neither content.

Now i'm wondering how is it possible that all the meta info just disapeared? We didn't make an update or something.

Greetz .

Peter

Hi Peter,

Data are never lost once saved to the Joomla database.

Please refer to this duplicated forum thread already solved to check if you have the same situation: http://storejextensions.org/forum/view/10-jsitemap/4372-solved-search-engine-metainfo-disappeared.html

I don't know what else you could have done wrong. By the way as a best practice always export them when finished.

Greetings
John

Thank you for your fast reply!

Where in the database does the content stored?

Hi John,

Thnx Great Job! The data is there
Now the next struggle ... the URL's in the database are wrong so we have to change them. If I check the "Search engines metainfo" in the backend, the URL's differ from what's in the database BUT still incorrect.

i.e. 1. url in the database: http://www.koffiematters.nl/component/hikashop/product/199-jura-ena-micro-9-otc-gereviseerd
2. url in the frontend: http://koffiematters.nl/koffiemachine-kopen/product-overzicht/product/jura-ena-micro-9-otc-gereviseerd

Is there a way to rebuild the index (or better, how) in the backend to display the correct SEF urls? And what's the best way to get the old meta data into the new one?

grtz

Hi Peter,

this demonstrates that you entered the metainfo logging into the backend using the wrong domain http://www.koffiematters.nl/administrator instead of : http://koffiematters.nl/administrator
So you know this for the next time, and pay attention to not do wrong again.

For this time, my advice is to login again as http://www.koffiematters.nl/administrator, export the CSV, change all links to http://koffiematters.nl, import them back logging in with the correct domain http://koffiematters.nl/administrator

About the SEF links, i should analyze better how you are using Hikashop. If your product links are using the Canonical Hikashop option (as recommended) i suggest to use the plugin data source for JSitemap. (attached here too)

If not, you have to choose the 'Manual menu item alias for SEF links' in the data source settings for Hikashop products corresponding to your menu item 'Product overzicht' -> http://koffiematters.nl/koffiemachine-kopen/product-overzicht

grtz

John
