can index/follow be impacted from JSitemap Pro? Karma: 0
Hi there,

I'm experiencing a strange thing in my website www.astridtimmers.nl; on the home page, when viewing page source, I have the code
Code:

meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow"
. In certain other pages there is no directive for robots, and on others there is "index, follow". However in my joomla config I set Robots to Index, Follow. Can this be impacted by JSitemap setting? I wouldn't know how to change this if the Joomla setting is correct.. thanks, Boudewijn

Hi,

only feature to rule that in JSitemap is included in the 'Search engines metainfo dashboard' -> column 'Indexing directive'

Check there if you have chosen 'Noindex, nofollow' by mistake for the home page.
If that's ok probably you have some other plugins managing the index directive.

Best regards
John

Hi John,

thank you. Somehow it doesn't automatically take over the default. So my solution for now was to select Index, Follow manually for each article. This seems to work, but still I haven't found why there is no directive if I use "Default".

Now another thing happened; I created a new article (http://www.astridtimmers.nl/fotoshoot/baby/evi) and it doesn't appear in my list of url's in JSitemap Pro. any reason for this?

regards,
Boudewijn

Hi Boudewijn,

it sounds weird to me, probably you could have some misconfiguration somewhere for noindex

New article still not in sitemap let me think to cache. Refresh all cache and you will get it.

John

I can't think to not so much else.

If you add a new Joomla article and the sitemap is generated in realtime it's immediately available. Check if you have some cache active, or some other settings that i ignore for example a category exclusion, the 'content' source unpublished, etc
