Meta information different with and without index.php suffix Karma: 0
When I visit my site's main domain ..
http://bigwoodsgoods.com/

.. and "view page source", I DO NOT see the meta information populated. (metatitle, og;title, twitter:title, description etc)

If I instead visit ..
http://bigwoodsgoods.com/index.php

.. and "view page source", I DO see the meta information populated

Should not these be treated the same?

Happens on Chrome and Firefox (at least)

With jSiteMap Pro 4.3.1, Joomla 3.6.4

Thanks,
Paul Smith

Obviously, this is normal and expected.

Metainfo are associated to unique links so if you change links you lose metainfo.

Related FAQ: https://storejextensions.org/faq/i-changed-the-website-domain-how-may-i-avoid-to-lose-all-metainfo.html

Tip: always use 1 version of your website links, never mixed links with index.php that's removed by the Joomla htaccess URL rewriting to have fully SEF links(recommended)

Best regards
John

Thank you. I always wondered what URLRewrite was for. Help for it is not informative as to its usage.

So, exported all metadata; turned on urlrewrite, edited csv offline to remove index.php/, turned on urlrewrite, imported edited csv, voila.

Deleted old metainfo.
