Include an X-Robots-Tag HTTP response header Karma: 0
Hi,

is it possible to configure JSiteMap Pro (4.3.5) to include an X-Robots-Tag HTTP response header when serving the XML sitemap?

Thanks in advance

Mariella

Hi,

not really you should customize the component source code to allow Joomla to include an additional HTTP response header when serving an XML sitemap.

By the way having such an header for the XML sitemap has no utility.

Best regards

John

It seems to be the recommended method to avoid Google show XML sitemap in SERP.
I've just noticed that all posts around internet talking about this issue are quite old. Maybe it's an old problem.

I would not worry at all about this not really a problem but how Google works, adding such an header could be risky, preventing Google to access and index the sitemap correctly. You could achieve the same result disallowing it using the robots.txt but i strongly recommend to not do this.

Ok I'll follow your suggestion, forgetting the all story.

Thank you
