Hello,

the conference users list is synced with the normal chat users list, so you should get the same issue with the regular users list.
If you have recently updated to the latest 2.16 ensure to have completely cleared all the browser and Joomla cache to refresh scripts.
Other than this i've no clue about the reason you get this and should analyze deeply your website to tell you more.
