Usernames in Public Chat Karma: 0  
Apologies if this question has already been answered but I have searched the documentation and this forum for an answer without success.

In the public chat area, avatars are shown but not the usernames. Where can I change this settings so that both usernames and avatars appear when somebody posts a message in a public chat room?

Hello, i'm not sure about your question.
The chat uses avatars + usernames always both for the private and public chat. Indeed when you hover an avatar the username and message details are shown.
The public chat in most cases compared to the public chat, uses usernames and not avatars.

The avatars usage can be completely disabled in component configuration too.

Thank you for our reply. In the public chat box, I can indeed see the username if I hover over a user's avatar but my question is how can the username and the avatar be visible at the same time?

It's not possible to show username and avatar at the same time.
