Just starting using my newly purchased JRealtime Analytics package (JRA).

Google analytics is showing much more traffic than JRA. What seems to be missing is all US traffic, as only non-US traffic is showing in JRA.

Any idea what's up?

firstly you should never compare Google Analytics with JRA because algorithms used are different.
JRA is more closely developed to suit Joomla stats so it's based on the Joomla sessions to track real data with more accuracy.

Other than this, i've no idea about local/US traffic. Unless you have setup some exclusions in the component or the IP geo tracking is not routing your local IPs to US (werid), there are no reasons why those traffic should not be tracked.

I only had my IP on the exclusion list (and I am located in US).

I took my IP off the list, then browsed to the site.

My traffic immediately did show up correctly in JRA, and as US based.

This seems to indicate that JRA is reporting correctly, and Google Analytics is full of beans.

Well you are quite right

JRA is much more exact because it's built upon Joomla, Google Analytics is generic. So GA generally speaking will show much more traffic than JRA, because it tracks almost everything compared to JRA that tracks only what is considered as real traffic and visitors for Joomla itself.

Interesting, I ALWAYS found GA UNDER-reported traffic compared to, say, AW Stats (part of cPanel) by a margin of around 4 or 5 : 1 ( AW Stats showed 1000 for GA's 2-300). This is a confirmed fact if you troll the SEM sites.
