I've noticed recently that my previous page links, that are setup to open in new windows and still are in my markup, actually aren't. So a lengthy bit of time taken to disable every extension, plugin etc and I've narrowed it down to 'System - Screen Reader'. (version 3.12)

When the above is disabled, my links I expect to open in new windows do and then when it's enabled, they don't.

Have you had any other reports of this lately please? Can you help me resolve this issue, as my external links are incredibly important but need to be opening in new windows / tabs.

Hi Robert,

there is a feature/parameter in the Screen Reader plugin called 'Remove links target attribute' that when enabled turns all links to open in the same window. That's expected and it's an accessibility feature, indeed to be WCAG compliant links can't open in a new window.
If you don't want this, disable the parameter.
