sorry I missed this option (and glad to know that it already exists), but I can't understand how to have this setting:

A) books: min. weight 0.8 kg - max weight 1.5 kg shipping cost: 5€ to Ireland, 7€ to GB, 10 € to USA
calendars: min weight 0.1 kg - max weight 0.25 kg - shipping cost: 1€ to Ireland, 1.5 € to GB, 3 € to USA

Even if I create two different rules, supposing my customer buys 1 book and 1 calendar, when he proceeds to the final checkout I don't think the total shipping costs will be the addition of the different rules A) and

Can you give me a practical example about how to achieve this?

no that's not possible it's not how it works. There is not sum calculation on the shippings cost, simply the customer will have multiple choices in the shippings dropdown based on the products purchased.
In your case if he purchases 1 book + 1 calendar he will get both option a) and b) etc and based on the country in the shipping dropdown, this is how it works.
