Photos in Fast Social Share Karma: 0
Hi,
I have just downloaded and installed Fast Social Share and I cant see how I can control which photo follows the shared article - it doesn't pick the photo that follows the article - but seems to pick a random photo with no connection to the text whatsoever. Is there a way to influence this??

Best regards

Helga

Hello the photo used to share article is chosen directly by social network script based on the meta html of your page.
The plugin doesn't control Joomla html in any way.
You need to specify a meta image like the following in your Joomla pages to tell social networks what image to pick:

Code:

<meta property='og:image' content='http://storejoomla.org/images/ogsiteimage.png'/>

John is this a situation that the meta tag needs to be hardcoded in the index.php file or other file?

or is there a plugin in the Joomla Extension directory that can handle the reference to the image file?

I'm having the same issue with the Facebook Share button on my site.

Thanks
Trey

Hi Trey,

there is an ongoing project for Joomla to add management of meta tags and microdata but it's still not available. I'm not sure if on the JED there is some extension to do that but i think so... if you find it please post in this forum.

however never hardcode such informations in the index.php but rather place the meta tags in the contents of articles.

Cheers,

John
