Hello Michael and thank you very much,

no at the moment the default public chatroom is the default one and is part of the other sub-chatrooms. You can disable all but not only the public chatroom leaving the other rooms.
I move this post to the wishlist so that we can plan to develop this feature in the next release of JChat.
