Matomo and GDPR Karma: 0
I have bought the GDPR extension and wanted to ask a question in the forum, but have no clue, how to add a new thread

Therefore here my question: how to add a (Matomo-) Cookie.

E.g. it always starts with _pk_id. and then a number ist attached. Is it possible to use wildcards in the configuration. So probably I should enter _pk_id.* to cover the various numbers.

This case is not mentioned in the documentation or FAQs.
Thanks in advance for your support.

Hello,

indeed the forum is moderated through this form.

To block/unlock Matomo it's not required to enter a cookie name (ignore that), but the domain/script name.

Normally the script is named 'matomo.js', so it must be added to the domains list for 'Statistics' cookies.

Matomo is not GDPR compliant by default, and still needs consent.

Matomo being a tracking system similar to Google Analytics always requires an explicit consent a robust consent mechanism in place to obtain user consent before tracking data.

A few best practice that you can follow to make Matomo more compliant with GDPR and privacy guidelines are:

Enable 'No-Cookie Mode'
Enable IP anonymization and other privacy features within the Matomo settings

While Matomo is designed to be GDPR-compliant and offers features to operate without cookies, it requires proper configuration to ensure full compliance. By default, Matomo can be configured not to install cookies, making it easier to comply with GDPR requirements. Always review and adjust your Matomo settings to align with your specific privacy needs and legal obligations.
