Jsitemap - meta title and meta descriptions disappeared Karma: 0
Hi,

I have upgraded the Jsitemap and my meta titles and meta descriptions that were save in Jsitemap have disappeared.

Can you please let me know how to retrieve them?

How should I upgrade the extension without losing the data?

Thanks.

Hi,

unless you have completely uninstalled the extension you can't lose stored data. If you uninstall it all database tables are removed and you can't retrieve anything.

If you didn't uninstall it to upgrade, check instead if the problem is different: http://storejextensions.org/forum/view/10-jsitemap/4372-solved-search-engine-metainfo-disappeared.html

To update the component refer to this FAQ: http://storejextensions.org/faq/how-can-i-update-the-component.html

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. yes it was that I have started using HTTPS instead of HTTP.

Is it possible to bring all meta descriptions and titles to HTTPS from HTTP without manually copying and pasting them?

Hi,

if you changed the domain the easiest way to apply same meta to new links is:

1. Export existing metas using the http:// domain
2. Use a text editor to replace automatically all links domain to https://
3. Import back to the https version

Obviously you could even change them directly in the database through phpMyAdmin, in the table #__jmap_metainfo

Cheers,
John

Hi John,

Thanks for your reply.

I can't access to http:// site at the moment because it is redirected to https:// and I am not familiar with phpMyAdmin.
I use FTP and cpanel though. Do you know any other way to resolve this?

Thank you.

Hi,

no i can't think to ant other way. The easiest way following my advice would be temporary disable the redirect to https and manage the export.

Cheers,
John
