Hi, i'm getting the following error when testing our jsitemap index via the appropriate link directly from jmap:

Errors: Sitemap is HTML. Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead.

As can be seen from the attached screenshot, I am linking/pointing directly to the jmap url for XML

Any thoughts on what the issue is/what I might be doing wrong? thx in advance!

Hi, if you are using sh404sef check if you have configured it correctly as reported in the PDF for sh404sef to work with JSitemap, if not a working link to submit to Google webmasters should be this: http://www.yoursite.com/component/jmap/sitemap/xml?format=xml

or even better use raw links for search engines submission, no needs to activate the SEF format unless very specific cases: https://www.yourdomain.com/index.php/index.php?option=com_jmap&view=sitemap&format=xml

Thx John - no, I am not using sh404sef.

Should jsitemap users be replacing the default sitemap urls as rendered in the component with those you referenced?

e.g.,
replace in admin backend the default url provided by jsitemap: http://www.yoursite.com/component/jmap/sitemap/xml
with
- http://www.yoursite.com/component/jmap/sitemap/xml?format=xml
or
- https://www.yourdomain.com/index.php/index.php?option=com_jmap&view=sitemap&format=xml

Continuing Errors: using the referenced link I'm now receiving the following error (sitemap doesn't properly display the namespace):

Before going on I would like to know more informations about your license, version used, etc

Your current account is not associated to any purchase and license of jsitemap. Please provide required info

I'm on version 4.3.1 (my license is valid/expires Feb 26 2017)

Where would one update their license information? I do not find any place to update any of this information on my Account settings or my profile here on the forum - there is no information under my account either (the only available info is password update. The only details showing in my account are for when the license expires:

The license is updated automatically based on purchases.
However this account registered as This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it has not any purchase associated. So maybe you are using another account for the license.
