[CLOSED]change of domain name in JSitemap problem Karma: 0
Hello
I have changed by domain name in the Joomla site once before and managed to get all the JSitemap info using the new domain. But I have forgotten how.
I have changed the domain name again but have been unable to get JSitemap to use the new domain.
It seems to have been accepted everywhere else in Joomla; just not here.
The sitemap metadata and similar programs, when i run them, show a red progress bar and then just "error".
Can you kindly advise.
Thanks
Scott

Hello, refer to this FAQ:
https://storejextensions.org/faq/i-changed-the-website-domain-how-may-i-avoid-to-lose-all-metainfo.html

And to this FAQ:
https://storejextensions.org/faq/why-i-receive-a-parse-error-when-clicking-on-analyzer-metainfo-and-seo-spider.html

QUOTE:

Also ensure that you are not using mixed domains for the Joomla! frontend and backend. For example if your site works with both www and non-www domain or http and https domain, ensure that the backend domain is exactly the same as the frontend one. Otherwise each javascript application running in the backend will be blocked by the browser itself because of cross domain policy returning a red bar 'Error' message. Take care if in the Joomla configuration.php you have hardcoded the domain in the $live_site variable, that variable must be left empty as by default.

Thank you for that.
I have exported, modified and reimported the database table without success. The HTML sitemaps are working fine but the "search engine meta" still shows the red bar.
Can i uninstall the JSitemap package then reinstall and have it rebuild from the start?
Thanks for all your help.

I don't think that reinstalling will help. Probably you are doing something wrong or there is some wrong setting in your Joomla config after the domain change.
By the way if you get a red error bar opening metainfo you can't export/import, so i wonder how you did it.

Re:change of domain name in JSitemap problem Karma: 0
I have managed to fix the problem and thought I would share that here in case can help others.
My solution was via the Siteground host so limited in relevance.

In Cpanel, I used the "Joomla Toolkit" / "manage domain" / "change domain".
It showed the current and correct domain and when I clicked on that, it permitted JSitemap to work correctly.

Note however, that I have previously changed all the URLS in the meta info table as per instructions above and dont know if that is also needed

Thread is now closed.
Many thanks for your help/.
