to check if it's a problem of memory/timeout you should try to change the parameter for 'images/videos sitemap = 50' to a lower value than 50, for example 20 or 10 links for each step. You can assign the same value to the 'requests limit' parameter too, but that's not mandatory.

If still no luck, the problem could lie in some links related to the virtuemart products that generate an error when crawled. In such case you can try to exclude the virtuemart products data source from images sitemap to check if that helps.

Keep in mind that an images sitemap should not be generated for more than 1000/2000 links max. Crawling more links could require a lot of time and result in weird server errors.
