The problem lies in the menu of Joomla, it looks like your website has something unconventional.

The menu items are flagged as 'parent' even if they are not parent, having not any subchild items.

You have to dig a bit more on this, maybe it's related to the menu structure itself, if you solve this problem even the mobile double tap will vanish working normally. As you experimented, removing the 'parent' class everywhere can't be done.
