firstly you should never compare Google Analytics with JRA because algorithms used are different.
JRA is more closely developed to suit Joomla stats so it's based on the Joomla sessions to track real data with more accuracy.

Other than this, i've no idea about local/US traffic. Unless you have setup some exclusions in the component or the IP geo tracking is not routing your local IPs to US (werid), there are no reasons why those traffic should not be tracked.
